My New House: More Living Room Updates (and a HomeGoods Gift Card Giveaway)~

This post is sponsored by HomeGoods

Do you remember a few weeks ago, when I posted about HomeGood's "Happiness Happens Day"?

Well, as part of the HomeGoods celebration, they gave me a gift card and asked me to use it to brighten somebody's day - anybody's day - with a little room makeover.

So I decided that brightening my children's day was a great idea.  Since we have just moved into a new house, I thought that making our family room cozy and comfy was a great way to start our family's new life here in Hydeaway Cottage!

I already had most of the furniture.  But as I posted earlier, I replaced the pale linen slipcovers with pretty gray ones.  As a result, the pillows I used on the couches before didn't look quite the same.  So I grabbed a couple of pretty new cushions at HomeGoods - the two gray toned pillows pictured below.

I found an adorable black metal side table...just what I've been wanting!

And a gorgeous area rug that has the appearance of being gently worn and is as soft as "buttah".

Once I added my HomeGoods finds to the room, it really started looking like home.  The kids love it and spend tons of time in this room every day!

Although the space still needs accessories, window treatments and art, it's really off to a great start!  Thanks to HomeGoods for making our new house feel a little bit more like home!

And the generous people at HomeGoods want me to spread a little happiness to my readers, so they have graciously donated a $100 HomeGoods gift card for me to give away to one of  my readers!    To enter for a chance to win, simply leave a comment on this post telling me what you'd spend your gift card on!  That's it.  Entries will be accepted until  Tuesday, September 2 at 11:59 pm.  One winner will be randomly chosen and announced on the blog next week.  Good luck!!

The Design Network~

This post is sponsored by The Design Network

Hello Lovelies~

Today, I'm super excited to tell you all about one of the new adventures I hinted at in my previous post!

But first, let me start by asking you if you've heard of The Design Network?

The Design Network is this amazing website dedicated entirely to Interior Design. (Something I can really get into...Lol!) It has all kinds of cool stuff...from web series to project photos to channels.

Well that's what I want to tell you all about today!

I've teamed up with The Design Network as an ambassador (because I love them so much!)  to share with you all about their Channels...your chance to share on The Design Network.  Design Network channels are pretty awesome...kind of like YouTube specifically for interior design.  But not exactly...

I have my own channel on The Design can find mine here... where I can share photos of my work as well as videos.  Yep!  Videos!  Kind of like my own mini web shows.   My first video (which will be viewable on my channel soon - I'll keep you posted)  is kind of funny - let's just say I have a ways to go to perfect my video making/editing skills and the music is cheese-city - but it's a lot of fun and a great way to share more of my love for interior design with everyone.

Anyone can start their own don't have to be an interior can simply be a home enthusiast.  The point is that you have the opportunity to share your stuff in a unique, totally design-oriented environment.  And even if you don't want to start your own channel, you can enjoy the content that's been uploaded by other Design Network users, as well as their great web series (my friends Layla from The Lettered Cottage and Anne-Marie Barton both have web series on  The Design Network!)  So go check it out!  And check out my channel...I'll be posting stuff there a lot - and my videos will improve I promise!
